As part of our Community outreach FaithWorks Christian Church runs the “Encounter Café” on the first Sunday of every month during the Gisborne Market.

The Encounter Cafe is a warm and comfortable place for people to come in and have a sit down and a chat. In a cafe environment you will be waited on and brought quality cappuccinos or have Devonshire tea with fresh cream and scones. Chat with your friends or be entertained with live music from some of our music team.

There is no charge at all as Encounter cafe wants to show that there are people who are willing to give to the community, just because it's a nice thing to do. Sometimes people are overwhelmed by the generosity they experience and they want to give back, so anyone who feels that way is welcome to donate to our orphanage in India.

So the team at Encounter Cafe encourages everyone who is passing through the Gisborne Market, to drop in for a cuppa on us. Wander the market as well and make a day of it! And plan to visit Encounter Cafe!
